Direct the activities of the molding department. Ensure subordinates are meeting efficiency and quality expectations and are working in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

* Schedule molding press operators. Monitor Molding departments to ensure they are following schedule assigned by Scheduler.

* Review and signoff on time sheet report every Monday within four hours of start of shift.



* Monitor machine operators and review travelers to ensure:


* Acceptable production rate

* Acceptable quality and scrap rate

* Travelers are completed correctly (incl. lot #'s) and legible.

* Ensure proper procedures being followed

* Assure that HOT/PRIORITY presses are operating or alert supervisor if there are issues.

* Move operators around as needed to cover priority jobs.

* Monitor LINE CHECK sheets completed by Lead People each shift to identify and address problem areas as well as to ensure acceptable production numbers.

* Thorough understanding of material identification and manufacturing processes

* Ability to operate molding & trim presses, & trouble shoot jobs

* Mentor all new / inexperienced machine operators

* 10CFR certification

* Train molders how to manage the loading / unloading process

* Monitor subassembly supplies to ensure material available to mold.

* Take action to replenish subassemblies as needed

* Check for shortfalls that may impact operations

* Spend the majority of your time on the manufacturing floor (85% - 90%)

* Reassign employees to other duties as needed.

* Foster teamwork though communication & listening skills

* Maintain adherence to company policies, safety & housekeeping rules

* Escalate significant issues to Management. Handle minor issues.

* Discipline subordinates per company guidelines

* Must be willing to work at least 10 hours of overtime per week.

* May be required to work in other functional areas to meet business needs.

Requirements

* 3 year work experience as a supervisor

* Education Requirements

* High school graduate or equivalent

* Technical School or some college

* Must read, write and speak English

* Capable of working in a rubber molding environment

* Basic math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
